fit Theory II cont...

How do you demonstrate 'fit' ? ... is it important to go for the optional 'applicant initiated interview' ? these interviews are usually conducted at the school so we might have to fly in to the school of our choice and give the interview there,,, as you can imagine its not going to be cheap to just fly to NY or some other plc for an interview ... esp from AU. But it seems that this does make your app stand out ? ... is it a good idea to spend 2 or 3 k and fly to three or four of your fav schools and give the interview in person before applying ? or is it better to just wait until the schools contacts you with an alumni interview ?

fit theory

It’s a humbling experience reading other prospective applicants blogs , so many qualified candidates with good stats and yet they get dinged from many schools but there’s always one school which accepts them… I’ve become a convert in the ‘fit theory’ I think I really need to find the right school for myself and convince them that I am the right candidate … lets see how things go you guys will soon know …

I had tried to detox all the baddies out of my system but living in Melbourne its not easy … I have to go to friends for parties or socials and its no possible to refuse a small shiraz or a few crowns (beer) or some other alcoholic drink :) , I used to have a nice excuse ‘I’m driving’ but it does not work when your date is driving :( … so I decided why struggle I guess i wont really loose that many neurons if I have a few beers :) I seem to enjoy it anyways :)), besides i’m already an coffee addict I guess we have to have some addiction in life ? …

So best of luck to me! And lets see how it goes …

Goodies from amazon :)

With lots of exercise , green tea, fruit, + sleep I’ve managed to detox all the nasties from my system with the exception of caffeine (cant seem to give up coffee so I’ve quit trying , more on coffee later …)

Today I finally received my package of four books from Amazon , ‘your MBA game plan’ and a ‘how to’ book on MBA by Richard Montauk the OG quant and a TOEFL iBT book which is pretty useless now since I’ve already given TOEFL without the book and scored 113. So if anyone needs a ‘free’ brand-new book on TOEFL with the CD let me know and I will air-mail it to you , i think its better this way rather than throwing it in the bin(knega tofel na halyavu, estli kamu to nado pishite ya vam otpravlyu po obichnoi pochte air-mail: ) ).

That’s about it for today , overall my prep for GMAT is going a bit slow I guess I’ll pick up speed soon (I’d better ) … --Cheers and have a gr8 weekend !

berry juice replaces 'bombay sapphire'

March 1 , 2007 is the final deadline for most business schools ! I’ve been on some other planet and it seems i've just woken up , now i've got about 23 days for my GMAT and about 31 days in total to submit a decent application (that includes writing essays). It's late, had a tiring day 'n was about to have a few shots of my fav gin 'Bombay sapphire' but decided to go for berry juice instead :-), i guess i will need all those extra neurons for the GMAT.

have been reading a few blogs like 'rusgirl' , 'ahsim' (in russian) , i'm trying to build up momentum and get inspired by reading successful blogs.

Its late and berry fruit juice isn't having the same effect as gin, so here is a random thought: Its annoying that Google has bought blogspot.com , i find Google increasingly annoying they have become a small microsoft , and collecting all that data on everyone, using their big-corp muscle to dominate and squeeze out smaller players ... but more on that later ... i know i'm using blogspot myself ...

thats all i guess i will go to bed and wake up in 9 hours (yes thats how long i sleep) [spakoinii nochii svem :)) ]
